Purpose:
The Office of Institutional Planning is dedicated to advancing the University of Duhok's strategic objectives by meticulously overseeing the strategic planning process and ensuring that all university projects align seamlessly with the university's overarching strategy and goals. This office plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of foresight, adaptability, and continuous improvement within the university.
Key Responsibilities:
Policies and procedures: The responsibility for drafting and maintaining the policies and procedures that regulate the office's operations falls on the Office of Institutional Planning.
Strategic Planning Oversight: Directing the creation, evaluation, and improvement of the university's strategic plan in order to guarantee its ongoing relevance, development, and conformity with the changing demands of higher education. Maintaining control over the strategic planning document and ensuring that all policies and guidelines are adhered to and properly implemented.
Alignment of Projects: Systematically assessing and matching every institutional program, project, and initiative to the university's stated goals. This methodical approach seeks to optimise the effectiveness of assets and initiatives, enabling the fulfilment of the university's overall strategic plan.
Performance Metrics Development: Engaging in collaborative efforts with pertinent stakeholders to formulate distinct and measurable performance metrics aligned with strategic objectives. This collaborative approach aims to facilitate the effective monitoring and evaluation of progress.
Environmental Scanning: Carrying out comprehensive environmental scans to find new opportunities, problems, and trends in higher education, offering insightful information for tactical decision-making.
Stakeholder Engagement: Interacting with stakeholders both inside and outside the university to get ideas, comments, and viewpoints that help to improve and enhance the strategic planning process.
Resource Allocation Strategy: Formulating plans for the best possible distribution of financial and human resources in accordance with the university's strategic aims.
Scenario Planning: Preparing for a range of possibilities and situations that could affect the university's operations in order to provide a proactive and flexible approach to strategic execution.
Communication and Education: successfully conveying the university's strategic orientation to both internal and external audiences, as well as offering instructional materials to improve comprehension and a sense of ownership over the strategic plan.
Continuous Improvement: Encouraging a culture of ongoing improvement through the assessment of the strategic planning process's efficacy, the identification of areas for improvement, and the implementation of necessary adjustments.
